Health Warranty

Health Warranty

I encourage you to compare our health warranty to that of other Dachshund dog owners. This is the best health warranty you will find! I do this quite simply because my puppies and their parents are healthy and come from champion bloodlines. Starwood Dachshunds Home is one of the few kennels with a money-back guarantee in case your puppy is found to be unhealthy by a veterinarian within 30 days. In addition, I also guarantee my puppies against serious congenital & genetic disease for one years!

What is the Starwood Dachshunds Home Health Warranty?

First of all, the term “health guarantee” isn’t quite proper. Nobody can guarantee that anything living won’t get sick. So think of it more as a health warranty. You’re investing a lot of time and money in locating and purchasing your cute Dachshund puppy. You deserve a reasonable degree of protection!

The Starwood Dachshunds Home Health Warranty consists of two parts:

Part 1 – Protects you from receiving a sick puppy. You must have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of leaving my care. If your veterinarian determines the puppy is ill and/or unfit for sale, you should return the puppy for a full refund of the sale price or opt for a “next available” puppy of your liking.

A few important details:  First – I require an original written statement from your veterinarian. Second – I will not reimburse veterinary fees.  Third – Puppy’s shipping fees are non-refundable, however; if you paid to have your puppy shipped, I will pay to have the puppy returned. If a “next-available” puppy is to your satisfaction, I will pay his/her shipping.

Finally, I adhere strictly to the 72 hour time limit. I understand veterinary offices are closed on weekends and holidays, but viruses don’t respect office hours. If I extend this time limit, I may end up responsible for a puppy’s illness he/she encountered after leaving my very protective and cautious care.

Part 2 – Protects you over the long term from any possible genetic defect or congenital disease. If your dog is diagnosed with a serious genetic defect, or congenital disease before one years of age, I will provide you with a healthy replacement. Depending on the specific condition, I will work with you to decide how to best care for the sick dog.

Examples of conditions that would entitle you to a healthy replacement include; life-threatening heart condition, genetic disease or defect and degenerative nerve disorders. In other words, conditions that effect longevity or the quality of life.

Examples of conditions that would not qualify for replacement are but not limited to; innocent heart murmurs . In other words, any condition that an otherwise healthy dog can live with and still live a happy quality of life, or a condition that is treatable.

In general, I would accept a veterinarian’s opinion of what constitutes a serious defect, but may require a second opinion which would be obtained at my expense. No refund will be issued if there is obvious neglect; if there are any violations of the Sales Agreement. If I cannot offer a healthy replacement within six months or I am no longer operating my kennel. I will refund the original purchase price of the puppy, not including delivery.
